It runs around a 3d environment via-software (you can turn hardware rendering if you have a good gfx card to enhance the graphics), and its just simple cool. you can customize your avatar appearence, and lots of other things. well, trillian is way versatile, but IMVU just turns the page. Its most likely the starting point for future IMs.
