I sincerely doubt any European/Asian/Australian members of GR would even give two sh*ts about this thread, since baseball bores most people I know from abroad to death.

Anyway, it's shaped up to see both NY ball clubs seeing their way into the post-season (another possible Subway Series, perhaps?)

Only difference being, the Yankees are playing like the games still matter, and the Mets aren't.

I'm watching the Braves/Mets game right now. Holy horsesh*t, the Braves are teeing off on the Mets starting and middle relief pitching. Martinez got rocked early, putting his rotation position in the post season in doubt. Oliver just got tagged for some back to back homeruns. God they look f**king terrible.

I wonder if this collapse will continue to plague them when the games start to matter again?

Anyone have any comments about this, or any other team they're following this year?

    I agree. They're looking good.

Mets got shelled 13-1. Braves gave them a prison shower walljob with no lube and no reacharound.

    Mets need to wake up.

(Oh, I'm a Yankee fan, by the way, but I have Dish Network, and they don't carry the YES network O_O )

Until after one beer and one hot dog you're out about 15 dollars.

Then again, you can say that about any baseball stadium.

Lol you guys are funny. The Mets need to wake up? They have none of their starters in. They have guys like Julio Franco playing 3rd Base! They don't have guys like Delgado, Reyes, Beltran, LoDuca, Wright, etc in. The pitchers aren't going to go all out right now because obviously the rest of the season doesn't matter...they already clinched the division AND homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

Oh and back to the pitching, like I said they're not going to go all out because they don't want to get hurt for the postseason. Pedro will be fine during the post season, as will Glavine. The Mets Bullpen is solid too.

Also, look who is in the NL Division...there is no one the Mets should easily get to the World Series.

About the Yankees making it to the World Series...I don't think they will. Sure their offense is amazing but their pitching isn't so great. Look at Johnson. His back...And if A-Rod gets into another slump and the fans boo him...it'll go downhill for him there. The Twins have the best pitcher in the league with Johan Santana and have been doing insane. And the A's are doing very well too. I don't see another Subway Series.

They gave up 25 runs in the past two game against the Braves. First line players or not, that's just poorly played baseball.
