One hell of a shot by the woman.

However, very bad protocol by the officers involved. Going in in street clothes? On a fvcking drug bust? At the wrong house? Even though they announced their presence, I can do that too (Police! Open up! - not hard). So could anybody else with a gun. No badges, no evidence of being police. Bad mixture.

She was right to shoot. They came in, very, very good chance that they weren't police (no uniforms, and you're not going to look for a badge through the sights of a gun), she should have shot. Unfortunately, the officers showed no restraint. However, they were also justified in shooting back. Once a cop takes fire, that cop has every legal right to shoot back.

I agree, the cops could have prevent this. But they had every right to shot back once they got shot at but nontheless they could have been smarter.

Cops have to announce that they are cops before they enter any place. I'm sure they announced it, and then struck down the door, and the lady still proceeded to shoot at them. In any case, if they were 'thugs' that woman would have a very difficult 'self-defense' court case to defend. She was in the wrong in all ways.

Your kidding right? She lives in a horrible neighborhod I am sure that there was been thugs breaking and entering into many houses. Anyone can say they are cops. The cops are walking in street clothes, what do they except when they knock down a door with just saying (open up its the police) if I lived in that kind of neigborhod for my whole life I would not exctaly trust someone saying they are cops.

She lived in a ---- neighborhood. A few guys come in in street clothes, shouting they're police. Not only are they in street clothes, there is no evidence other than the shout/announcement that they are, in fact, police. Recently, a person was kidnapped where I lived by a person claiming to be a police officer. She was subsequently raped and killed. The guy had a fake badge. He "arrested" her. Got into his car, she was gone. If they were uniformed, I'd be firmly on the side of the cops here. However, other than the shout, they didn't look like police through the gun sight.

The police were very right to shoot back. It's a case of misunderstanding and bad protocol. Both sides are at fault.

What about the police going down a bad neighborhood? I don't think they want to attract attention to themselves.
