I found this interesting and imagine what that could probably do. http://news.cnet.com/Intel-shows-off-80-co...1.html?hhTest=1
here's something with an 800 core processor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814261018 really this core race is ridiculous, outside of a few specific work loads more cores = no performance gain. it's like having 80 cars and say you can move 2 people around town faster now... doesn't quite work. I'll probably be sticking to dual core processors for a while, they consume less energy, put out less heat, and they overclock better. this might change in a few years, but for now, multicore is a last resort because intel and AMD ran out of other ways to improve their processors. FYI multi core processors have been around for 30, going on 40 years, they're nothing new, and only truly useful in server enviroments
what would be really good is if they managed a way to lower chip power intake by converting the heat given off back into energy. It wouldn't necessarily need to be part of the chip...more like a heatsink component.
