Hey guys, I'm about to order this card here sometime this week. And I wanted to post here to get a Final check on it. I know its not DX10. But DX10 is a little far down the road, and I can always use EVGA Step-Up Program if I see a 8800GTS or GTX on sale somewhere.

you will get like a constant 30 if you max it out with that card, i have a 7900gt pretty close and the same cpu and i still can't max it out but you can probably put it on high/med

Freeze.. The 7900GT is nothing like the 7950GT KO SuperClocked

    7900GT:

    450MHz

    1320MHZ

    ------------

    7950GT KO superclocked:

    600 MHz

    1450 MHz

I'll get more than 30, and thats for sure.. So I don't know what your talking about.. My friend said around 60+ for all games..

not with that processor you won't, it will run the exact same as my 7900 runs because its going to be bottlenecked

no the 8600GT and 8600GTS are limited to a 128bit memory interface, benchmarks are showing them as being SLOWER than a 7900GS in most scenarios.

and you can overclock a 7900GS to 600-650 core and around 800mhz mem FYI

huh? how can the card be a bottleneck if theres not enough power from the cpu to make it run at its proper speed? because a 3500 is deffiently going to bottleneck it

Like ok i used to have a 6600gt before and it wasnt getting bottlenecked or anything because i could still oc it and get some power out of it, and when i got my 7900gt yeah it ran better but when i oc it, nothing ran the exact same, and even when i under clocked it, it still ran with the exact same frame rate in any game with max settings. So don't say that a 7950gt is going to not be bottlenecked

I want you to run FEAR @ 2560*2048 with 16x AA and tell me what gets you better frame rates, a 2.0GHz p4(let's say galatian core just to be nice) or a 4GHz Core 2 quad(lets say only 2mb l2 cache).

assume both are on the same FSB with the same speed RAM and the only difference is their multiplier. Heck the P4 system would have the most available bus bandwidth given such a scenario

    on another note

DO ME A FAVOR, PLEASE, PLEASE, GET THE GEFORCE 8800GTS INSTEADit's a much better card and it's only $3 more. If you go to placed like OC3d and XS you will see dozens of people SELLING their old 7900s to get 8800s. huge performance boost.

if you get a new videocard, buy some more ram to.. and you'll be better of buying the 8000 series.

obviously the quad would run way faster and give you a way better frame rate
