That one by valo can probably be done by doing the text, then putting a gradient over it with two alternative colors of 3-4 nodes. then duping the layer, disable style, and gaus blur it very slightly and move it up+right. or use drop shadow.

(this is not an entry :P)

Cool. but yea, i'm not very creative. you should probably ask maynards for some tips on text. his style of warping and integrating text is really hard to master.

anything else you like? i just wanna repeat that i'm not very creative :P.

    *edit*
oih and btw, do you wanna know how the text was placed? or just how the layer effects were used? well its no secret haha i just use the "character" window and play with the values there.

    To get the 'valo text':

    1. Add your text below ur color balance layers.

    2. Click drop shadow - default settings.

    3. Click inner shaddow - opacity: 20%

    4. Click bevel and emboss - size: 0

    5. Click gradient overlay - opacity between 50 and 70% (whatever looks best)

    And your done ;)

You can also move the angles of your text,Like the V in Valo, by going to Edit>Transform>rotate. You can do the whole text at once or if you want each letter to be at different angles, do 1 letter per layer, like this
