upgrading your comp does the trick.but also,you may have alot of things on your computer.delete all the things YOU DONT need.like I said,if that doesnt work upgrade your ram or graphics card.

 

Well, I've tried all your solutions: none worked

The screen still freeze when I join a server.
I've tried with and without router. Same thing happen...

hmph...so ur saying that you join a multiplayer game and after a while the game friezes? Does this happend in every multiplayer game? Or just Rainbow Six? Does your comp freeze up when you play a single player game aswell? Graphics shouldnt be a problem for you computer
I got a Geforce6600 vanilla and i play rainbow six 3 with 1024 all maxed out (no aa and af of course)

Solution: Try un installing video drivers, sound drivers, and reinstall dx9.
If your comp hangs when playin singelplayer games: Then you might have a overheating problem...6600gt has a built in temp monitor so just keep recording ur video temp and c how high it is...it could also be ur cpu that overheating...(im not completly sure but it could be)

 

Well, only Rainbow Six and Farcry friezes, but other games lag...

I did just took a CPU test, here's the results:

someone had this problem somewhere, i think i saw that they had to update some drivers. moniter drivers, network card drivers or something like that. do a full update thing, update all drivers and then try. hope this helps.

 

hmph...does the game freeze right when you join or does it take some time? If it takes some time do you fell your game getting chopier and chopier?

All other games that lagg: Same question do they start lagging right when you join a server or does it start to lagg a little then in time gets worse?

If they lagg as soon as you join then its probbaly your internet...could also be that you hve ----load of spyware on your comp get adaware6 (free) and search trough your whole comp...the cpu test said u have a minor problem on C drive..do a scan disk on that then defrag all of your drives aswell..

But if the games start out fine then get gets laggier and laggier it could be that your cpu or video card is overheating.

 

it does not take time before it freeze, it takes exactly 2 seconds.

and the other games start lagging, the lagging keeps stability, it does not getting worse or better.

 

ok then its probably your internet that is teh suxor do what every1 else said uppdate your network card drivers, sound drivers, video drivers (if u havent already) use adaware6 to remove any spyware and the try a game and c if it helps. When you join a server checkthe ping is it higher than every elses? (should be when your lagging so much) AND if nothing helps you should call you internet provider and ask them wtf is going on...did u have this problem be4 btw or did it start recently?

*edit* Patch the game aswell if you havent and check the game makers site and forum if more ppl have the same problem as you

 

Video drivers is updated to the latest updates on the marked.
Sound drivers... Hmm... Never done anything with the sound, not network drivers either.

Intresting! It started after you reinstalled windows....did u unplugg the network cable when you did that...cuz if u didnt that could be the problem you could have ----loads of viruses and crap on it now...and btw did u try adaware and if u did did it help? If i was you i would ju reinstall everything again since you have all ur stuff backuped from the last reinstall so it shouldnt be a problem...

But be4 you do that uppdate windows and dx(this could be it if u havent uppdated)

One more question is your memory 1 stick of 1024mb or is two sticks of 512 etc and is it the same exact kind, cause that will cause problems you wont notice it will surfing the web and stuff but while playing online which puts alot of stress on your computer it can cause problems. My best guess at this point is a problem with your internet

 

Internet that might be a problem lol it might overload your internet or does it use a disk cause i no whenever u join a multiplay game it will lag for a like a min or 30 secs so that lag may overload your disk drive or your internet or both try getting a better signal(wireless internet) or getting a better service(wires) and try to get a new disk drive, if you can try it on a differ comp on the same inter and see if it works

 

same thing happened to me when playing Farcry....just download a spyware program and scan the computer....its suppsoe to work, worked for me

 

hmm, i had a similar problem
are both of your ram the same brand/model, like identical? unless u got a 1gb stick, im assuming u have 2x512

i think it is probably a problem with your ram, if u have 2x512mb of ram, meaning two sticks, try removing one stick of ram, and try playing the game?
only remove one stick if they are different models and stuff, if they are the exact same, then they shouldnt be a problem
