Squirt, Mountain Dew, Dr Pepper, and Root Beer for life.

Nah, for people who have decent eating habits and don't need to rely on caffeine fueled drinks to get them through a day.

Its a flavored drink, i guarantee 99% of soda drinkers don't drink it too get through the day. Thats what coffee is for ;) Drinking soda doesn't mean you have poor eating habits...lol.

I bet if they didn't drink it for a week and still ate what they do now they would feel drained compared to their usual self.

Relying and caffeine and liking the taste are two completely different things.

If they could make a caffeine free Mountain Dew that tasted exactly the same, I would drink it (whichever one was cheaper). I don't drink irish whiskey to get drunk, I drink it because its so fantastic. I don't drink soda for caffeine, I drink it because it tastes better than everything else (same with energy drinks).

Then again, I drink way more than I should a day. Last night, for instance, in the 8 hours I laid in bed and woke up randomly through the night I drank 3 liters of Clear American - flavored / carbonated water. When I am awake I can drink nearly double that amount (anywhere from 3 to 6 liters per 8 hours).

You can also be quite healthy while drinking soda, and eating / drinking things with high amounts of sugars, if you monitor your diet appropriately.

Oh, and about caffeine, I didn't drink a single soda for 2-3 months because I was too lazy to go shopping and get soda. I didn't feel drained at all.

Give me a flavored water that tastes like those drinks but is as healthy as water and I will gladly switch to it if it is cost effective.

I wish I could drink alcohol just for the taste, my mate drinks bottles of JD through a straw and I don't know how he does it. I have to force drink any alcohol when I go out just on the principle to get drunk, I hate the taste, gag.

I felt more alive and certainly less bloated when I stopped with soda a few years back, and it makes me think how crap I felt before when I drunk it. Most people just don't know any different from soda, no artificial flavours = No good. I try and drink it when I go out, if someone offers to buy you a drink you can't say "I'll just have a water" but after that I feel so ---- again, not worth the bother. Plain old water 4 lyf.

I can't stand anything sweet either, no chocolate or such, which is a killer, I used to love it. Damn you taste, why'd ya have to go change?

Answer me 1 thing though, when you dropped the soda for those months, didn't you feel any better? Less bloated and such?

Nope, caffeine doesn't really effect me. I used to work overnight 12-16 hour shifts that required I be on 4-5 caffeine pills to stay awake, kind of gained a tolerance to the stuff.
