Well, I donno know if this is a very common way to make a border or not, but it's how I do it and I think it looks pretty nice...

    1. First step is to make a new layer over every other layer in the sig.
    2. On the new layer, hit Ctrl + A to select the whole image.
    3. Once the whole image is selected, select Edit-Stroke.
    4. Under the options have "Inside" selected, have the color selected to black, and have it at 3 pix. Hit ok.
    5. You should now have a 3 pix black border. Next step is to go to Edit-Stroke again and do the same thing except you want the color to be white and have it at 2 pix.
    6. Once again, do Edit-Stroke but this time do 1 pix and color to black.
    7. Last step, on the new layer with the border on it set the blending mode to "Darken". It should make the white part of the border transparent and show the color of that part of the sig.

    Have fun.

Ye, very effective, but why you set the mode to Darken? I set mine to Soft Light.

Actually, I've been trying to do this but I couldn't figure it out. Turns out I didn't set it to Darken, so this tutorial helped.

    Thanks Point!

You really felt the need to post that comment? It's not spam, I'm just trying to help people out. And apparently, it did. So shut your fucking mouth bitch, I don't want to hear it.

dont lower my rep or anything, but it was a good 3 months of ps before i started using/knowing how to do these. if no one made a tut for it how is anyone supposed to know how to do it? i knew how to do it, but still nice tut.
