i was under the impression that rap is nothing more than street thugs trying to be tough in order to earn a reputation to use as a medium to sell their records. why do you think 50 cent made such a big deal out of getting shot before? no one really cares, but he made it seem as though he was some sort of gangster, when in reality the fact is he did NOTHING to retaliate to the people who shot him. same goes for the game.

most rappers are nothing but an image.

few possess any real musical talent, proven by the percentage who don't even make their own beats. to be a rapper all you essentially need is a "hard" image that white suburban teenagers, black people, and hispanics with a weak cultural identity who cling to black pop culture will buy, really that's all it takes.

there is some rap that i like, but it appalls me that people think making lyrics about killing other people doesn't warrant getting killed yourself
