I've been making sigs for more than 2 years now, I know that being patient is very important, but the thing is...
I have slightly improved in the last 3 months, but c'mon. There are people who are in this for only a half a year and they're better than me. What's the deal here?
I switch my styles, I experiment, I read tuts, I smudge, I use C4D's, I use stocks, I use renders, I use vectors, I use sprites. And I'm still considered only moderate in sigmaking. What am I doing wrong?

I'm at the same boat you are. But I'm even worse, cause I still can't do a sig alone all by myself, I always need to follow tuts :/
That's why I switched to the rendering art lol

Resources did it for me, just hog up tons of PSD's from tag gods around the forums( a lot of forums ) and learn from them.

You have to have an idea in your mind of the final product. I have the same problem tho. I've done it for 6, although I've been off and on quite alot. I switched to 3d, video editing, and nothing, ect...

Maybe you just dont have the talent for it?.. I dono :P..
Maybe ask some pros on what to do and not to do..
I think you can still learn a lot by looking at PSDs..

Or maybe Large Art is better for you?.. Atleast that was the problem with me, I had to small space to do my thing..
I was high mod when I quitted making tags, I had a really nice idea for a LP, first LP I made was solid/high -------.. yeah almost 1 rank higher..
Now i made 2 ------ --- LPs.. well atleast people say its ------- in my eyes Im still low ------- :P..
I do still make tags but then they are cropped Large pieces.

Oh you cant post ranks.. o.o.. k.. xD

<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">Experiment and learn different art forms. Sometimes it's good to take a break for a little while.

Also some people learn differently than others. Visual learners have an advantage when it comes to art than auditory learners or kinesthetic learners.</span>

stop reading tutorials and make your own style with your own head and your own resources.

Build up resources - PSDs mainly, tutorials, stocks ect. Practise with all those different resources, with some resources you can make great things with, but others, you can't make anything good. Just depends on your style and what your aiming for.

Well, I still suck... So don't worry. ^_^

I just try different styles. I had to stop Photoshoping for a while because I lost ALL my files.

So tutorials just help. I get some good feedback on tutorial tags I do.

Instead of whining about how you haven't improved, why don't you try harder? No one here will make you better except yourself. If you keep thinking, wow these sigs suck why haven't I improved? Then the only person to blame is yourself. If your sigs suck so bad, then fix them! Jesus Christ, stupid people piss me off... <_<

Best way to improve is to experiment and stop trying to copy every new cool sig you see, the only thing that'll do is hold you back and when you try to do something different, you realize that you actually suck and was just copying other people's work, lol. Getting "---" PSDs help alot also, but then again when you try and copy other people's signatures you develop a style of your own in the process so I guess that isn't too bad.
