btw when this happened to me i had to wipe my comp to get it working again cause there was no way of fixing the prob

 

Basically, all I do is exit msn, the re open it, but most of the time, MSN is down <_<

 

also check and see if windows firewall is off i have had it on sometimes and it has done this.

Do you use internet explorer or firefox?

My IExplorer connection settings were wrong, so I couldn't get on. Fixed that and I could.

 

Go to network connections and make sure your DNS server is availble for listening

 

www.portforward.com

That will help you open ports on your router

 

happenes to me 2 but i downloaded a server switcher for msn messanger just yesterday that makes you sign in with a different hotmail server ( totally lelag) :\ but yea works nice and its small its called MSNserversX u dont have to turn off your firewall it this i had the same problem and it was anoyying

This is probably not it but is someone on your msn account or your using msn by a different computer??

 

by the looks of it it's prolly the firewall.

When you have a brand new windows version installed (XP that is) and you open certain programs that require ports used through the Windows Firewall it will ask you if you want to block or unblock.

I think you have it set to block but since it's letting your through sometimes it's weird.

Try to turn off your FW from MS and the macafee one. I know you leave your comp kinda open but it might work.

Else, try to DL trillian and see if you have the same issue there.

 

Yea, i have lots of security software installled right now. i did delete some contacts, and its sort of working, but not fully. im still working on it. i just close and open it and it works foir a bit. i think it may be AVG, or McAfee or something.

 

If you cant get it to work, jus system restore! it fixes like everything.
