you must have (example) C:\ and a D:\ both must be hard disc types. You cant backup the disc and dump the image on the same disc... its a waste...

The freq. is lowerd if you have more RAM slots in use. They must be twinmos to share the same freq. of mem.

The 7600GT is a good gfx card, im getting it within 2 weeks :)
7600GT is a good bugdet/game gfx card if you have the extra money go for the 7900 GT or even the GTX version :)
Have you tried to start in safe-mode ? Press F8 during boot (before windows logo is loading) if this doesnt work use google for other options....
