.devasation, try putting 'newegg.com' into the adress bar, i found that after doing a hard refresh, it would work again..
did you also delete the folder C:/program files/adobe? there might still be some stuff in there that the uninstaller didn't take out.
i doubt you paid for it, but let's not go that route.. try to delete the hidden files in C:/documents and settings/(user)/application...

fedora does have kde. if you want ubuntu but don't like gnome, try Kubuntu, which is ubuntu with kde.
