weird I have an A64 3000+ and it is 2ghz. maybe it is because it is a socket 754... either that or because my ram is at 200mhz
if you already have an OS then you could probably afford a somewhat better GFX card or one gig ram. Also, WIn 64 is based of of win server 2003...
