If it had better depth and lighting I think it would look sick.
It needs depth and the lighting seems off. The sig shouldn't look so flat. Yeah focus on the render... but add some effects so that it doesn't...

I didn't know. I'm going to ask him permission to continue using it, if not the tutorial will be taken down, as well as the sig.

I like version 2 the best. The colors are a little off but it's not bad. I really like the effects you made to it, but it's a little dark.

Too many colors, oversaturated. If you don't like something then change it. That's the whole point of photoshop :)
It's almost like you erased too much of the render. And it's definitely oversharpened.
The smudging is really good, but it seems like more of a base instead of a finished product.
The text needs some work. I think the 2-3px border doesn't really look very good on it. Other wise it's not bad.
The avatars are pretty cool, the sigs are ok.
The text is amazing, and it's got good flow. But the background is kind of meh. It seems like you could have done more with it.
