i tihkn u used the drop shodow abit to much, also the Bevel and Emboss, you could maybe soften it abit more.

basically, place the text about 3-6 pixel's away from the left hand-side navigation button.
did u try it? and i dont me on the line on the left, i mean about 3-6 pixel's away from the left.
but i havent see a tutorial for templatemonster's template, so it is nothing alike
i usally use 800 x 1000 or 800 x 800
i like it, but i would postion the navigation text further to the left.
maybe center the template?
also, it looks weird with that stroke on the boxes
how long is the webspace for? do u want a login box? (a space so u can code it or what ever)

you need a banner as u said, and i need to fill the huge gap at the bottom of the template.
yea bg sucks, and the arrows are kinda well 'Huge'
and it looks really dark for some reason :S
yea to many gradients, and the banner is way to big.

i would move the navigation over to the left, cause it is kinda hard to see there, and it abit crowed togeather with the picture.
personlly i dont think it is a rip, he has jsut used the tutorial, and hcnaged a few things if u look at it carefully.
like 'Dark Rider' said not bad for your first one, but try using some diffrent colours for your graidents (hint: not blue and white)
