They're both hawt, but I think the render on the first one needs more contrast.

Balance is waaay off. Put something in the foreground on the left. Doesn't have to be much, just make sure it sits in the front ground.
The render only looks weird because it's poorly placed. It's actually blended pretty well, but you do have to work on it's placement.
I like the colour, the texture and the lighting, however that looks to be how the original stock was, from what I can tell. Work on composition....
