when you go to a game that is run by shockwave, there should be a little icon in the upper left, click that to install shockwave for Fx...
stop some of those background programs... go to start -> run -> type msconfig -> go to the startup tab, and uncheck anything that does not need...
do you click the little icon, that says 'click here to install a plug-in' and then get a window that downloads and installs it for you? after...
hmm, maybe put your startbar to 'autohide?
