Good idea of adding those cloud-like effects to the hands, but you should work on it some more. It looks a bit off atm. Try making them a bit more...
V3 for me as well. It looks a bit empty without the sprite and the text is simply better aligned in the third version then :) Nicce colours.

I quite like the grunge look and colours :) Only thing you need to change are those small circles to the left. They don't fit in with the grunge...

Nice smudging and colours, but the lighting is off. It works for his arm and body, but not for the head. You need to add some extra lighting there...
There are fires that don't burn? :P Amazin tag actually. Love the flow in it. I'd try sharpening the flames a bit though, to create more depth...
