Maybe your RAM speed setting isnt good, did you plug another 256MB in or did you remove your old 256 and put a single new 512 in ?
I have an avarage of 10-15% of my RAM used. So you might consider upgrading it. :) Good luck, small note: Extra RAM doesnt always is a solution...
