I think the render's placement or canvas size is throwing the composition off. If you like the outcome that's all that matters...

Hey I think it looks good for a slump. The lighting's a bit strong and possibly a bit boring. Other than that, I like it. A very different tag.

The colors of the render/focal are completely different than the bg and effects. I'd say a b/w version may work better.
