I like this style you're developing. It's original. At first I liked the colored one, but now that b/w is really growing on me... Good stuff.
In both v2's there's a pretty obvious line, looks like you cut and pasted. Blend that part better.
I think the focal could be more obvious. That type of b/w tag would be sick if you left the reds on his uniform still colored in or something.
