Its tough to see what the pic is because of all the distortion going on.. it you reduced it around the gun i think it would have some cool depth.

Colours are off in my oppinion.. the fireball/beam thing looks like its contrasted and it should look smoother. maybe the blue is whats wrong i dunno.

How about a tut for adding depth to a signature. You know simple, focus in the foreground, background lots of depth with appropriate lighting.
