My grandfather on my mothers side fought in the Korean war my great grand father fought in ww1 and ALL of my uncles (on my mothers side cause my dads family is a bunch a shmucks) fought in ww2 and my best friend is a afganistan/iraq war veteran. I'm currently in high school and after college I want to get into the military or miltary police. I'm probably the most patriotic person in my school. America is the best country in the world no matter how much the media, hollywood, partison politicians and unpatriotic traitors screw it up.

While I respect our troops and military families in Iraq and past wars, I also respect the responsibility they take specifically. True, it means giving your life for your country for some, but it also means leaving a legacy. A famous line from a good song was "Its not what you take when you leave this world behind you, its what you leave behind when you go", and I think thats the truth. Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, Conservatives...its all up in the air at times, but I think if we all took the time to go to a troop - any troop, alive or dead - and ask "Was it worth it?", I am sure they will say yes without hesitating. A man fights a war to do good, not to kill or be greedy like people claim in a "race for oil."

For the soldiers, I praise you and thank you for everything you done and hope you know you will always have a legacy, whether well-known or not. For the families and friends of troops, whether you give a damn about the Administration and this war, at least consider that its not the morality these troops fight for nescessarly, but its the nation and the people they love that they so dearly protect. Anyone who disagrees, I just hope you understand that while some may say this war is bull or immoral, that these people fight for their nation, not its decisions so much.

I know 3 guys that I knew as a Freshman and Sophomore in highschool. One of them died my Junior year (he was a Senior when I was a Freshman) and the others died this school year. It's a whole different thing to hear about this happening without having a direct connection to it but these guys were close friends of mine and it's just a hit in the gut. But I know they did what they loved and they did it for a Country they loved even more. I'm proud of these guys as if they were my own brothers and I'm proud of our boys over there right this second.

I'll go help 'em out soon enough.

Frankly, in war there really isn't a right and wrong ends at both sides, every solider are humans after all and they all have their relatives and family to worry about. Even though freedom is earned through lives of soldiers, everyone wants a piece of freedom, that's one of the reasons why war breakout. Talk about a contry losing lives, in war, every country loses lives in masses.
