I was sitting in my Modern Probems class when my mind starts to wonder (again). I was thinking about the classic games when I relized that...

Why in the hell does Yoshi have the only japense name?

    Mario - Italian
    Luigi - Italian
    Peach - English named fruit
    Bowser - English?
    Toad - English

    Yoshi - Japanese

If someone is a mario expert that would help because its really bugging me.

Wow. How boring is your class?

And I'm guessing because he was added later.

Well, Bowser is only called Bowser in English, I believe. In Spanish he was just called Koopa, at least around the time when the game came out and stuff, and I believe it's the same thing in Japanese.

Well, Koopa doesn't sound too japanese either, so I dunno. btw, I know nothing about japanese.

The person who thought of Yoshi in the first place was named Yoshi. He died and they renamed the green dog-creature after him.

...Just joking. I think it's what Master said.
