Ok well PS has always been ok with me for the past about 3 months since I got 512 mbs of RAM, but now, I am working on a template. It is from a tutorial at codedfx.com.. I got to step 60 and now any time I try to do any command, even the simplest ones make it shut down. I am not running anything on my computer and it still wont let me do anything... The filesize is about 3.5 Mbs..is it just too much for my computer to handle? 512 mbs of Ram 2.1 Ghz Intel Celeron Processor... Anything I can do about this?... If not, I might get a new computer for christmas, so any tips on like, minimum processor speed and RAM to make some good templates. I was planning on makin a few bucks when I really got into it..
Have you checked for viruses and spyware and such, because they slow you down, that and the large file size may have something to do with it. Does it only freeze on that file or on all, no matter which size? As for the new computer, nowadays, 1GB of RAM would be good, and a 2.5 - 3+ GHz processor should do you nicely. Good luck with the templates
Not really a large filesize i had a 40mb filesize PSD for a animation and my provessor is a 1.1Ghz 256mb RAM - Not necessarily that make sure the RAM STICK is inserted firmly and check inside if you losened anything which probably causing the problem because you said it was working before you inserted the ram stick in hm..nowadays most people getting AMD64 - Personally im going for the SMD64 3500 SKT 939 - Get a SKT939 one and 512DDR RAM is good if low on cash (buy 1 stick 512 not 2x256)
I said it worked fine after I installed the new stick not before^ and I'm running a full system byte level virus scan now..these things take a few hours..so I'll post back if I find anything.. btw..i think my computer is just dieing really..I moved a window in MSN today and my entire computer froze up..then I restarted it and did it again and again. It froze.. The other day I was lookin thru my systems BIOS. The only thing I changed was I made the cpu speed from 2.0 Ghz to 2.1Ghz. I believe this is what "overclocking" is but I'm not sure..either way it was supposed to be ok only if it was below 20% more increased which its only 5% increased, so idk if thats a problem or how to lower my cpu speed after increasing it.
