if you're doing it because you enjoy it, then continue on the other hand, you won't make much money theres TOO many people trying to get into digital arts see how many freelancers are out there today? theres tons of them
^What he said. Everyone and his mother is trying to get into digital art nowadays...you better be extremely good at it if you want to have even the slightest chance of making a living out of it.
thanks for the advice guys... how about digital mutlimedia ? cuz if i cant make it out in digital arts ill do digital multimedia .. but if you want to show off ur skills, use a program called "painter" which is digitally paint pictures with a tablet.. its like electronic painting !! they look really good peace Mr_LeE
Digital media==digital arts... congrats dude, there are 30000 people opn GR who can do digital arts and digital media. many are 16 and willing to work for below minimum wage... Get a real carear where you atleast produce something liberal arts is risky.
GR people = beginners at best. Grabbing a stock picture and adding texts and backgrounds to it is not professional work. Just look at all the sigs here. Even the "pros" make sigs that are all identical in nature. All you have is a stock picture and a cloudy/abstract background that more or less matches the color theme of the stock picture. Then you have some text, and some random brushes thrown around to add blending effects, along with occasional arrows and circles in the event that you make a so-called "vector" graphic. The true geniuses are the people who create the artwork that the people on this website use as stocks for their sigs. THAT's digital art. Downloading images from the internet and adding elementary effects to it isn't. So, to the OP, onto the next point: Don't think that you're good at graphics--or that you will ever be--simply because you make sigs in a website. If you truly believe it's your life's calling, by all means go for it, but like people have repeatedly stated already, you'll find that the competition out there is REALLY tough.
i personally wanted to be a web designer when i was younger.. im the only person that does this type of stuff in my hood as i grew older and visited more forums, i realized theres millions of people just like me and theres already designers that work for very low salary you're better off working at McDonalds and selling templates from home
thanx for all the info.... I know its not making sigs all day.... I'm also good with computer engineering and computer programing...digital arts is just one of my hobbies but would really like to learn more and inhance my skills as an artist... I know I probably wouldn't get a huge paying job as a digital artist unless I got a deal with Pixar or something.... My main focus is Computer programing//engineering...
