Ok When i'm logged off of Msn Messenger, people can still talk to me through web messenger. Is there a way to stop this. I've done numerous scans and there is no spyware/adware/viruses. This is getting really annoying because people always talk to me and I haev to ignore them, but they keep making it beep and it gets annoying after 5 minutes. I really need help with this, thanks ^_^

uh, 'web messenger'? Dont know what you mean by that. Try exiting out of the whole program, not just logging out from it..

Or try Gaim, Trillian, or other Multiple IM managers. I haven't used MSN in over 2 years, so I wouldn't know why it happens. the above suggestions should be enough to get you going, maybe.

no, it's the web version of msn messenger. It's not a d/l thing or anything. you just log on, then sign off and clost the pop up. I have some of the ones you suggested but it's the web messenger that appears

have you installed msn messenger and you use that. Cause I installed MSN Messenger and it was annoying because I would sign off and Windows messenger would still be signed in.

yes i use msn messenger. But i've never heard of windows messenger. But if its the same as web messenger, I have logged out of that, but for some reason it logs me on when im not logged on to msn messenger

For example, if i restart my computer, and one of my friends is on, they can talk to me, even though i'm not logged on. But once i log on, it sais you have been logged out off web messenger.

Isn't he talking about that plug in for IE that allows you to chat through IE, if thats what it is, uninstall the plug in and install MSN Messenger 7.5. It sounds like your still logged in through the IE browser. I'm not sure but it's probobly not the doing of some virus, it's proboby your doing. So, that means you can undo it, get more info to us about what exactly you are using.

This isn't a plug. The site is here if you want more info on what im talking about. the web messenger. You don't d/l anything and it works on other browsers, not just IE.

Your probobly doing something wrong, because it says it doesn't require the installation of any kind of program. Make sure you are signing off when you are done. Sound's like that is your problem. Your windows messenger(the one that comes with the installation of a Windows OS) might come on automatically when you start your comp so maybe you want to take it off the start up reg.

isnt there like some settings in there that you can configure it to not auto-login whenever you are logged out?? I suggest just using the regular MSNM or Gaim or something...
