2Pac actually wasn't a thug before he got in the rap game. He had no criminal record before he got in the rap game, and he got into the rap game by being a backup dancer for Digital Underground (i.e. dancing onstage wearing thongs). Make up your own conclusions.
IF YOU SAY YOU GANGSTA BUT YOU NEVA POPPED NOTHING THATS TUPAC RIGHT DURR THE ONLY THING THAT UPSETS ME ABOUT TUPAC IS THE FAC THAT HE WAS BORN IN THE EAST CAOST AND CUZ HE GETS SHOT HERE LIKE 4 TIMES HE MOVES TOT EH WEST AND STARTS DISSING US. IF HE CANT BE HONEST ABOUT BEIGN WHERE HES FROM THEN WHY SHOULD I BELIVE HES A THUG?
WHY THE ---- DO YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPS? Btw, I don't know why you like canibus so much, okay yea his lyrics are good but when he raps it sounds as if he has 4 cocks stuck down his throat. I hate his voice, but yea alot of his lyrics are good. And camtosis, I think you "study" rap too much. Most people just listen to it, but whatever.
TO ME ITS NOT THE VOICE OR HOW THEY SPELL BUT HOW THEY REACH OUT TO PPL AND HOW MUCH PPL CAN RELATE TO THEM THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I FIND IN A GOOD RAPPER IS METAPHORS METAPHORS R TEH SECKS
You're right. You choose to follow the crowd who drools over any and every artist that isn't signed to a major record label. You choose to follow the crowd who thinks that anything "underground" is automatically good. You're not alone there, kid. There are thousands upon thousands of people who think just like you. You're a bandwagoner too; you just happen to be riding on a different wagon from the "mainstream" people. Actually, if you wanna talk about battle rapping, Eminem alone would son the sh*t out of anyone you mentioned, and I hate Eminem. Underground rapper =/= good battle rapper. If you want good battle rappers, go find some Joe Budden, Chino XL, Jadakiss, and a few others. I'll admit, Nas is a garbage battle rapper, but that doesn't make him a bad rapper at all. He's easily one of the most innovative and creative cats out there. For examples all you need to do is turn to songs such as Book of Rhymes, One Mic, Rewind, Virgo, Live Now, etc. etc. Hell, if you wanna talk about raw mic skills, Ludacris is easily one of the best out there. His subject matter leaves a lot to be desired, but he's got one of the best flows and rhyme schemes out there by far. Lyrics aside, the dude can come up with some crazy-ass multisyllabic rhymes... The point is that you don't know as much about rap as you think you do.
not only that he was an actor in 2 movies, and a very talented poet [/b][/quote] IN MY EYES HE WAS ALWAYS A POET HIS RAPS WERE LIKE POEMS WETHER THEY WERE GIVING A NEGATIVE IMAGE OR A POSITIVE ONE.
Actually, I don't study rap at all. I just happen to look for different things from it than a lot of other people. Most people consider pac a rap god simply because he had seemingly good lyrics. Well, I generally don't give a damn about lyrics. What I like about music in general is the melody, harmony, and overall flow to it. With that said, I'd much rather listen to a rapper that raps about garbage but is actually good at it, with good flow, mic presence, multisyllabic/inner rhyming, punchlines, etc. etc., than some wannabe socially conscious rapper that has averager mic skills at best. In other words, I'm the one who just listens to music. You're the ones who dig a little too much into it when you keep saying that 2pac was a leader of the masses and a political thinker and a poet and blah blah blah. The guy was an average rapper in my book. The way I see it is this: Why should I care about your message if I don't like the way you present it?
WHOAH WHOAH WHOAH MAN PAC ISNT AT ALL ONE OF MY FAV RAPPERS BUT WHEN HE WAS AN OK RAPPER? WHOAH MAN U GOTTA HEAR HIS ---- WITH BIG PUN? EVER HEARD 4 DEADLY MCS WITH HIM BIGGIE BIG L AND PUNISHER? AND THERES THIS 1 PARTICULAR SONG HE HAD WITH BIG PUN THAT FREAKING MADE CUM MY PANTS
When I listened to his music and decided for myself that he was just an OK rapper. I own a lot of his albums and I enjoy his music, but I enjoy it because it sounds appealing, not because I think he's this great rapper who influenced millions through his poetry and what not. So, he was an OK rapper.
I never said anything about him being a leader or whatever. I don't really care what he was, because I never met him and I don't even know who he is. I just listened to his music, and liked it. And how do you listen to a song without listening to the lyrics? Isnt that like the most important part of a song?
^no. If the song sounds like sh*t, why on earth would you listen to it in the first place? And I DO listen to the lyrics, because I'm looking for things such as flow, punchlines, wordplay, blah blah blah. So, I care about how the lyrics are presented, but not about what they actually say. I couldn't care less if you're talking about impoverished black people all over the country or the latest case of herpes you obtained from that good looking woman on the streecorner last night that ended up having a huge penis tucked away somewhere. If it sounds good, I'll listen to it.
