OK well... i have been going on 2 x 256 ddr 400 (pc 3200) pqi Turbo memory sticks for a while now (dual channel) and i would like to upgrade. i would like to get 2 x 512 ddr 400 (pc 3200) pqi turbo aswell... and i would like them to also run in dual channel. i would get the same type of sticks, just different sizes. would this work out?

    2 x 256 mb in dual channel
    and
    2 x 512 mb in dual channel

i already know PQI makes compatable memory.

    what i have now: http://www.pqimemory.com/spec.asp?link=/sc...3200-256SPU.htm (2 sticks)

    what i want: http://www.pqimemory.com/spec.asp?link=/sc...3200-512SPU.htm (2 sticks)

would it work? thanks for your help.

sdhould work, but be certain of what you are doing, I heard somewhere that when you fill all the meory slots performance in terms of speed actually goes down a bit.

Dual Channel only works with 2 chips. If you have 3 or more, then it goes back to the normal timings and transfer path.

u just have to check ur mobo companies website for complete info on ur mobo since they all different. for example, i checked out my mobo on the msi website and it says that duel channel can only run if u place the sticks in certain configurations.

Yeah, Like mine, has 2 blue slots and 2 black slots, and I thinkall 4 sticks have to be the same amount of memory/?company? to do the 2x dual channel.
