Ok, I have no prob with usoing game renders but as soon as i put a sig i made for my bro on another forum, and asked what they think of it all i get is "YOU RIPPED THE IMAGE" "THAT IMAGE IS ILLEGAL" and other BS. So can sum1 tell me if using gamerenders pics is illegal? Note: the forum is the Runescape tip it forums. I will supply link if any1 want it.
It really depends.. on the situation.. if you made a sig with an image, it's okay... but if you took someone else's sig, and slapped a name on it.. it should be handled as ripping..
i created my own sig, so that means its not ripping doesnt it? Heres the sig in ? Its 1 of my fiurst and i know there r things i need to change
Right the whole ripping thing tends to get out of control very fast. For me ripping is taking someone's else's work and claiming you made it. Now I'm no artist and I never claim to be, however when you use certain images from the magical site of DA, cgtalk etc they will go after you for ripping there artwork. Most people are ok with game renders cos people say they allow people to use them etc but it's a whole different ball game if you use something from an art site. Most people don't even bother to point out the fact that you didn't make the render cos everyman and his dog knows that however some people will say he never drew that bit of art you ripper etc etc. I do find it funny when people go on and on about ripping artwork when they have no problems using illegal copies of ps, C4D and many other programs listening to there downloaded music and watching the latest movies on there pc yet it's different when someone uses there painting, when they have not even claimed to have made it in the 1st place. Best way to stop people from ripping is to watermark it or even better don't post it online in the 1st place. *rant over*
ok they are calling you a ripper because of the render you have used...its a ragnarok render and it is copyrighted and on other forums using any pictures in your own work is considered a rip. On gamerenders we do not call each other rippers as the whole point to this forum is posting renders from games..

if using a render is ripping that 100% are all ripped because all the pic that ppl use are made by somebody else like if you take a pic off of google for example that is ripping that you did not take the picture. so i dont think that it is ripping.

How about. Bull----? Taking someone elses picture, be it a render/image whatever , WITHOUT his knowledge and permission is Stealing even if it is not for any "profit" be it a material or mental. Stealing is stealing , ripping is ripping and unless you dont talk to the person that made the original piece and ask him for permission you are infact ripping it unless they gave it out for free. You know copyrights are a pain in the ass , and yes most people on this forum are rippers, even I have used renders, so yes I am also a ripper.
Ya i know everyone in tip.it are ass's, Just say you have the permision from the owner and they will back off if not say that you drew it and colored it yourself, since it is not a graphix site they will wont go investigating
