Well, I been hearing alot of argument about whats a real photmaip.....It seens that everyone have a different defination.......so in this thread lets just talk about whats A REAL photomaip.........share ur ideas....
Here's dA's definition: Digital photographs that have undergone post processing and/or editing via the use of a graphical imaging software. The extent of manipulation should be prominent and noticeable in ways where it can be clearly distinguishable from the unaltered photograph. Usually when you just change the hues, colors, darkness and brightness, it can't be classified as a manip because it can be done during the development process of a photo. When you add a little brushing to it, it could be classified as a manip but it's not too prominent to tell.
I think that photo manips are when you can take things out add to andcombine them so what was happening in the original photo has changed to whatever you want
I always go with the simplest way... A photomanipulation is any photo that has been changed with editing software... Obviously there are different degrees of photomanipulations and whatnot, but I think that's what it means...
accually, your wrong, a photocan be manipulated before the light even is a milimeter away for the film ( or in a digtial camereas case lens ) using lense filters or light refractors.
arguiment about a manip?? well, thats easy! PHOTAMANIP is a photo that u edit/combined with another photo, OR a photo that u change by adding a brushes and etc. for EXAMPLE: If you saw a smooth metal picture, then u can Manip it to make it a rusty metal! EXAMPLE 2: If you saw a beutiful city picture(LAS VEGAS) then you can add/combined another picture, like a huge bridge on top of the City! so basicly, u edit the picture to make it better or worst <<<(dunno how to spell) speaking of MANIP, i have a MANIP battle i forgot on the resqest battle! oops!
no thats not a photomanip either, in a split second i could tell some filters that u used and yes to fuse thats wat a real photomanip is..sorta like greasys
For me, a manip is basically taking a normal looking image, and turning it into something completely different I'm not saying I'm good with manips, but this is what I usually do: This to This
You guys are showing him newb attempt manips. Look at Blackfuse's description please. If you simply change some crap to make it look like a signature, thats not a manip, a true manip should show skill and understanding of Art imo.
Just look at Blackfuse's DeviantART gallery for examples. http://blackfuse.deviantart.com His manips are kinda scary P) but they're pretty damn good as well.
Im so happy you guys took out the old toungue.gif because sometimes people post a toungue in a happy mood, and the old one had a '---- you ho' look lol.
