When im playing day of defeat or counter strike my fps jumps about every 30 seconds and I think its because of my system process because when I hit ctrl+alt+del it shows my systm process jump about every 30 seconds.Anyone know how I could get my system process slower or not to jump?
look at the process list and see wat is causing the spike and end the program until you are done playing
You can do what ^^ he said and that works or you can permanatly disable that program from running by going to run>msconfig>services and end w/e process you don't need but I warn you to becareful when you mess with this stuff.
Also what may cause it is if your running Xfire while not gaming, that tends to slow down internet connections and frame rates.
Get this: http://www.tune-up.com/ Seriously though, don't be lazy and ignore this post, really get it! I used it to tweak my 1.6ghz intel to totally being able to handle cs:source. It handles everything from your registry to your processes, and will even manage them to optimize memory.
Just go into services/startup and whack every thing not necessary. use google to look up whats necessary and whats not by searching for items on the list that u dont know what they are.
I highly recommend not doing this method unless you have a good clue what you're doing. Doing this often facilitates your having to do a system restore.
no it doesnt.... thats why i said look up the items that u dont know on google to see if u need them...
Oh also, that program that I linked allows you to do just that^, but it gives you info about every thing, like filepath general info etc.
press ctrl+alt+del then taskmanager(if it prompts to a diff window) go to: view>update speed>normal hope this helps u.. +rep if it does coz programs will just make it more slower IMO
