I'm not sure of the amount of pages, but a weird, good, sci-fi read is Eric Nylund's A Signal to Noise. Haven't read the sequel yet.
there are so many sites with notes on this book, i did it when internet wasnt around and im only 20. anyway its a good book, u will enjoy it and there is a tonne of help on the net with chapter write ups and summeries and crap.
