Half Life2 + Cs:s

    Hey all i am having trouble running steam when i try to run it i get this error

    "cannot contact the steam server, please try again later"

    I am behind a router but i have forwarded all the required ports
    If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know

    Try connecting without the router connected. If it connects, you have to cnfigure your router differently.

    how do i do that? i need to update steam so wont i need the internet

    it may not be ya rounter do u have a firewall is so disable it Steam dnt get one with a firewall lol but if not ill grab hold my mate knows how to sort out ya rounter prob

    Hey people got it working just did a system restore lol and re-installed and it worked thanks people

    1 creds for each person coz u didnt really help lol

    If you have a DSL/Cable modem, just plug the cable directly into your computer. You may have to reboot both to make it work.

    First unplug your DSL/Cable modem from the power source. Next shut down your computer. Then plug your modem directly into your computer and plug the modem back in. When it sync's back up, turn your computer on.

    Try connecting with steam, if it works, your router needs to be configured differently.

    (we are trying to see if it is your computer or if it is your router that is giving you issues)
