Ok, Im running Linspire on my other pc, and I'm trying to get it on the internet.

I have my router set up on this comp, so i kno it works..

So I set its IP address, gateway, DNS, etc.

Problem: It still doesnt connect. I restarted 3 times, no result. Tried all of it's troubleshooting stuff, no result.

    Help??

***ok, i fixed it, it obviously resetted on me... <_<

    there's KY1992 again...

All you need to do is set your IP address, gateway, subnet, and your dns, if you need to.

This should be in tools->network. It varies from distro to distro, but its as easy as setting it up in Windows, just a dif way of setting it up.

Once I kno what distro your using, i can help more. ;)

    ;) thanx...

I havent used gentoo in awhile.. but I believe it uses Gnome as its desktop. Click on the footprint in the lower corner, top or bottom, in there should be a catagory for system settings. inside that should be either a 'control pannel' or a 'network setting' option.

pretty straight forward after that if you used to set up networks on windows....
