Do you consider signatures as 'art'? I dont. Signatures are design, to please an audience. They have no real graphical skill involved. Most of them are just downloaded brush whores with a render shoved in and a colour balance layer.

Thats why I dont make signatures. Anyone can win. Large art takes time to develop, signatures can be made to a pleasing effect much quicker.

Stunt, I like how you use complete hyprocrisy to defend your case. That's hardcore.

plus, everyone in the world knows krusifix rocks the hardest at all forms of digital art. I invented vector, so ez.

Strange opinion you got there about signatures, Stunt. I'm sure many, many people would beg to differ. There are tonnes of artists who do what you define as 'art' (large canvas work, etc.) who make signatures also.

Why are you posting an 'art' battle on a signature design based forum anyway ~_~.

So like, that wasn't mean to be a flame ^^". Just my 2 shillings.
Eeeek, I'm rooting for Exodus and HTID at the same time -_^.

LMAO That' pretty funny because most of the good sig artists are not here and most of them could easily pwn you in big pieces. Most of the time these peoplel make big pieces and shrink them down to make sigs. If you think that sig's are not art and that everyone uses downloaded brushes and whored renders, there is something wrong with you.

And also I see downloaded splatter brushes in most of your pieces and that style of painting you do is pretty much whored.

    Haha.

Thats the funniest thing I've read all day. If you want to bring one of these siggists to 'pwn' me be my guest - chances are I know them already.

You contradicted yourself also - you said they make big pieces and shrink them to make sigs - that means they are extracting the art from the big piece, not starting a sig.

The style I used, what, three times is now whore. Yes. But is that all I can do? No. Please look through my gallery properly.

Sigs are not art. Art is something that reflects yourself, your emotion and feelings. Design is making something to please an audience, to a certain standard.

Signatures are made to a standard, the first being the canvas size - most sigs are rectangular, and with the longest sides horizontal.

Most sigs use renders, the minute you put a render (that you didnt create yourself) into a signature you've changed the art to desisn, since you are making your sig to conform around the render. There are exceptions to this, but they are usually found as photomanipulations in large pieces.

Signatures are 'aesthetic eyecandy', something that looks nice - and doesn't really represent anything in particular.

They are created to look nice, with effort far less than that that is put into a large canvas piece.

Maybe people will beg to differ - but that is my opinion.

Before you say anything you should learn a little about sig making and maybe read what I said a couple of times. I said the style you use is whored, he1z for example is one of them who started it and now its whored by lots of ppl. Once again not everyone uses whored renders, some make their own and lots of work goes into making them and somehow you made me sound like all good sigs artists extract from thier big pieces and put it in their sigs, thats not all they do, so get your facts straight. Also I am not saying sig making is harder than big pieces by any means or take more work but you can not say things like you are if you don't know. So if you would like lets get Mancer, sick osiris, MT, irrel or some other good designer in here.

He1z is on my MSN, he is very helpful and he's working with me on an upcoming media company - so don't accuse me of whoring his style, I've only used it thrice. If anyone can accuse me I'll leave it up to him.

    I'm already battling Irrel.

Sicks on my MSN list, we met at nationalSIGleague.

Learn something about sigs? I know about sigs. Thats how I began digital art. I just dont think they are 'art' as much as they are 'design'.

I'm not arguing anymore 'cos it'll go on forever and the argument has no real point.

You, my friend, need to read the rest of the posts. Signatures, (with exceptions) are not, in my opinion art as much as they are design.

    And large graphic battle.

    Ok.

    Theme: Abstract OR fractals.

So its new to us both. (Well I know it is to me)

Send me your entry when your ready to pwn me.
