since geforce 7800 GTX is so expensive these days (especially in canada) nvidia decided to release geforce 7800 gt model, which is almost as good as 7800 gtx and way far better then 6800 ultra. Also the good part is ITS CHEAPER. the price for this baby is only $399 in american and $539 in canadian. im not sure of the specs though but i think this card might just rock for the price =)
I think the people should get this card if they want a card that is just as strong as geforce 7800 gtx but its cheaper. so this is it!

OKAY UPDATE I JUST READ A FULL REIEW OF THE CARD, IT SEEMS THAT THE SO CALLED "POWER OF 3" WHICH WAS NAMED WHEN Nvidia, point of view and EVGA HAS RELEASE ITS 7800GT!!! BUT MAKE SURE IF YOUR BUYING ONE OF THESE CARDS, MAKE SURE YOU GET EVGA WHICH COMES FASTER AND BETTER BUNDLE DEAL! the other 2 is same.

    302 Million transistors
    7 Vertex Shading Units
    20 Pixel pipelines
    256MB 256-bit 2ns (8x32) GDDR3 Memory (500MHz clock - 1 GHz effective)
PCI Express x16 Compatibility (PCI Express Compliant)
Integrated NVIDIA TV Encoder (HDTV, S-Video, Composite,)
    Integrated NVIDIA VIVO (S-Video, Composite,)
    Dual DVI-I Connectors
    NVIDIA PureVideo Technology
DVD + HDTV Decode assist up to 1920x1080p resolution
    Integrated Dual 400MHz RAMDACs
1 Dual Link TMDS DVI Connector
1 Single Link TMDS DVI Connector
NVIDIA Digital Vibrance Control (DVC) 3.0
Support for Microsoft Video Mixer Renderer (VMR)
    Advanced adaptive de-interlacing

One thing! THIS CARD CANNOT UNLOCK ITS PIPELINE, ITS REGULER IS 24 PIPE LINE BUT NVIDIA USE THE SAME PROTECTION AS GTX VERSION, SO NO UNLOCKING ON THIS CARD, maybe in the future. BUT THE PERFORMENCE CAN BE OVERCLOCKED EASILY TO A GTX!!

    Well...

$400 is a lot of money, true.

But most people are not realizing one of the great hings about this card's architecture.

It asctually USES LESS POWER AND RUNS COOLER THEN THE 6800 SERIES!

    That's right.

Now, the major difference in the GT to the GTX is simple. They turned down your pixel pipelines form 24 to 20 (6800 Ultras have 16, 6800s have 12, etc). I assume since the releases are so close together that they are turning down the pixelpipelines via the BIOS, which means you can probably unlock it via RIVATUNER.

That said, the oly other difference is tha tthey lowered the core clock and the memory clock a bit. Again, there is a very slim chance tht they had the time to remake an entirely new engine JUST for the 7800 GT that would disallow you to unlock the above mentioned pipelines.

Therefore, once you get your vid card, DL RivaTuner, unlock the 20 pipes to 24, then set the core clock to 490Mhz, and the memory clock to 1300 MHz, and you now have a $500+ USD video car, for a mere $400 USD

So the 7800 GT is a great thing...

I wouldn't advertise it as "just as powerful as the 7800GTX." But it is a great card for the price. Unfortuently you can't unlock those 4 pipes that the GTX has. You can get it up to the 7800GTX core clock speed, but then again... you can OC the GTX even higher. I've seen the prices for the GT and GTX drop though, so they aren't as expensive as they used to be.

    Cheapest Retail:
GTX: $469 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130248 (Comes with an OC out of the box!)

    GT: $374 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150108

its not WAY better than the 6800 gt ultra. if even, the 6800 gt ultra is better than the 7800 gt, depending on which you get. i myself have a 6800 gt.
