I happened to stumble upon this website through photoshop tutorial pages and stuff, and well, I'm kinda confused on what a "render" is. To my understanding, rendering is what you do in 3d modeling & animation software, whether it's compiling your final animation or just making a still picture out of your project, but I'm seeing a lot of stuff here being called "renders" when all they are are pictures of something put against a white/grey background.

Am I missing something here? What do you guys call renders?

Btw, I don't hang around graphics boards that often, so I'm obviously not up to date on the slang and stuff.

Chyeah on here we split the renders you think of
with renders as in a stock image or picture cut out.

3D renders is like Cinema 4D and 3Ds max work
And a render is something like...the pingu in my sig

All a render is a pic with the backround cut from it. So it is easier to use in sigs.. which i dont really get. most of my sigs are used with non rendered images..
