o i just heard about this thing called mac osx86 something like that where u can run mac on an intel pc. does anyone know where to get it and stuff?
http://www.osx86project.org/index.php?opti...ntpage&Itemid=1 yea, looks cool, no downloads yet, but that would be awesome..
lol, you have no idea how hard that is, do you? Even if you base it off Linux, it's still hard as hell
well its pretty simple if ur sick of windows go with linux but macs are good, ive heard only good things about em but ud have to buy a whole new comp so just try linux and if u dont like any of em u can always go back
Linux but it will take a moderate amount of cinfiguring to get ti up and you will likely want to run it as dual boot, I suggest using partition magic to do so, also make sure you back everything up you will regreat it if you don't I WILL
linux is safest but its not always fun... if you've never used linux before it will take you a few days to get your bearings and a week or too to start "flowing" with it... that was the case with me
I'm thinking seriously about switching to linux. I will be mostly designing with photoshop and coding with dreamweaver. Which Linux Distro should i get?
any distro will have a version of gimp and a html editor. I suggest getting Mandrake if you are new to Linux. Be sure to get the most recent one. I have v10, and it has 3 or 4 disks. unless you have a fast net connection, I would just pay the few bucks to buy the cd's than spending countless hours downloading it.
well, when i said designing and coding i meant that i'll be using photoshop and dreamweaver a lot. Is Linux compatable with these two programs? also what about instant messenger compatability
Got get Linux (Free), I use the distro Gentoo Linux. On the matter of games, if you really really need the games you can duel boot or try running them under vmware.
For Photoshop, there is Gimp in Linux. does almost anything Photoshop can do. There is a WYSIWYG editor similar to Dreamweaver on Linux as well. and for IM, there is a linux version of AIM called GAIM at sourceforge.net, just search it. MSN, I'm not sure of... edit: oh, found it: from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gaim
