I own 3 computers and use them all (amazing I know). My other desktop isnt working for some reason.

    1Ghz Pentium 3
    768 Mb RAM
    CD-RW (doesnt open)
    Floppy
    Maxtor hard drive

I think its a virus, but now im debating if the hard drive died. I put the computer together like 2 years ago (i needed a hard drive and it took me a while). Hard drives dont crash in 2 years.

When I boot it up, it says there is no Master IDE Drive (Hard Drive). It tells me to boot from system disk. So did my hard drive crash? I dont feel like buying a new hard drive if its all fine. *Still looking for the Windows XP thing I loaded onto it*

It may have crashed, but I had this problem once and all I did was change the hard-drive to another computer. I tested it and it worked fine, put it back in the original and it worked. Maybe something got unplugged or something. Have you checked it?

Im kinda trying not to take off the case and such... its an older case and the kind that the side panel doesnt slide off easy like today. But I think ill do that tomorrow. All thats needed to be fixed is the CD Burner then.

It sounds like you may not know what your doing so much i suggest you speak to one of your computer friends which i know you have * everyone has at least 1* and ask him what you should do. Dont go fiddling with anything in there. You can seriously hurt yourself even when the pc is shut off electricity is still stored in some components and can definilty give you a bad hair day :)
