Im defenailtly going with the psp. The psp plays dvd's, holds music like an mp3, and holds pictures and its wireless no need to link up to a other psp....
Yes, but some extra features wouldn't hurt [/b][/quote] What you call gimmicks, i call more bang for my buck..
And when you looked at the "sales chart", you seemed to have forgotten that the DS came out way earlier than the PSP and it was available during X-mas which means more sales. Of course DS has more sales because of that, but it doesn't mean it's kickin' ass.
PSP definently is better than the DS. Only reason more people have the DS and it is more well known is because it has been out longer. It got so many sales because when it was released there was no competition for it. Now the PSP is out, and the graphics, games, and movies are going to rock. Just compare the graphics/quality of a game between the 2, and i am sure it will be easy for you to choose the PSP.
played on the psp b4 its out in the uk, and my 1st thoughs are that its way better than the DS. The psp is gonna give ya way better graphics plus all the extras ya gonna end up gettin for it, while the DS reverts to cartoonish rubbish games just like the gamecube has. so psp is my vote for better handheld ^_^
Obviously PSP. It's more stylish, better sound quality and graphics, more features, and better games. The only thing bit bad about it is that it gets scratched quite easily without any protection like the screen guards. DS, from all I can tell, is only good for picto-chat (whatever its called).
I bought myself a screen protector just for that. Also i have wax just incase i gte a little scratch on it. I dont see how the ds is better than the psp.
Funny how every one is saying it has better games when they havent even LISTED ANY! With the PSP, sound quality is crap. It is advised by many people to use headphones. Yes, it has more features but at an extra price. I think if Sony didnt include the extra features like Movies and MP3, it would have done better. A lower price, an early launch. Course it would have done better! But what really gets to me is that they pack everything in there(movies, MP3, etc.) and expect everyone to buy it coz it has the Sony brand name. In a survey it presented that 90% of PSP owners own a PS2. Sorry for this but i can only come up with this word. Fanboys. Well at least most. Sorry to flame. It just hurts me that people are ignoring nintendo products just because of its image. Maybe if you ignore the so called "kiddie" graphics and actually play it, you might enjoy it. As with the GameCube. Jeesh.
Owned both GameCube and DS, traded 'em in for an Xbox and PSP (not at the same time of course). The DS is for more of a broader audience. Most kids will only need to use the gaming function so the PSP doesn't appeal to them. Adults who aren't really portable people would get the DS for the same reason. But the games are the ones that seem "kiddy-ish". The PSP could appeal to the college kid, teenagers, or just to anyone who likes electronics. It's a multi-media machine. I myself don't own a PS2 anymore after having it broke but a lot of PSP games coming out are some great games I enjoyed on my PS2 (Burnout!! ). It all just appeals to different audience. btw, all your posts scream "fanboy-ism".
Well at least you played the DS and GameCube. Kids could get a PSP for the Gaming function. As with adults. Yes, some DS's games do look kiddie ish but some are actually quite enjoyable. A DS could also appeal to Teens and people who like electronics.(Dunno about college since there are non around where i live) How do i know? I am one! But with people who like electronics, wouldnt they already have an MP3 or a portable DVD player? So they have no need for the multi media fuctions. Thats why i think sony would have done better with no extra functions with a lower price. What i am saying is that any audience could enjoy these portable. Its just extra functions that ruins it. Yes i might be a nintendo fan boy but at least i dont make immature comments like "PSP sucks!" or "DS is gonna rule!", as with previous people.
