Okay i want to ask a few things, than suggest a few..

1.) why do u guys use actual renders from images (the images have Trademarks on them) and i heard we can get fined..

Thats why you dont see 'fan' (music, artist, actor etc) site anymore, and if u do its down in a heartbeat..

2.) why dont you create your own characters?

theres this kid in my Digital Art and Productions class, that creates all of his, and he can claim there "his"..really were just puttin images together (although thats art aswell) but i think we should all try to make are own shit..

3.) im gonna just be making some abstract sigs, and practice on illustration art, such as logos, and text art..

You used a clip from that phone commerical. You didn't make it or own it. You could be fined!

No retard, you can't be fined for fanart. When did that ever cross your mind? Has there ever been a time where a company fined a kid for drawing a picture of Goku and posting it up on his website? Let me answer it for you just incase you make something up again. No there hasen't.

Why do you guys gotta be such assholes?..

I said we^^^ as in i do too...

i was just asking a question dude, no reason to call me a retard..
and i know that you cant just copy someones image and use it without permission..
i know were not prohiting off it in any way, but i was just curious..

and i think it would be bad ass if everyone draws there renders..
would be very time consuming though..

and btw..i didnt make this up, im studying producing in class, along with digital designing, photography and animation art..and we have to call to ask if we use (sounds, images, and even mp3 songs for presentation slideshows..)

Uhm... No, we're allowed to do some of this.

Look at all the people who run game companies ( Gamerevolutiion.com ) ( Gamewallpapers.com )

See those sites? They use renders from peoples games and their popular and havent got fined any money.

I believe that is true artwork.

I completely understand,..some of the otha cats have to be schooled.

    I understand your point!
But then your on the wrong forum => GAMERENDERS

There are thousands of people making sigs and etc
I never heard of fines cause you use pics of games.

Sorry but most of us aren so smart to make our own charactars!
Most of us see this as spare time! Not our job! So we wont spend entire days on one character for a sig with what we dont earn money!

If you can make your own charactars you dont have to be necessarily in here but in some sort of great company who wants to pay you for that!

Game publishers dont usually mind fanart and ingame images being used in my experience. I havent heard of any court cases with that as the subject. In fact, publishers usually welcome the distribution of gaming images - it helps to promote their games.

Also, if this wasnt allowed, developers wouldn't bother making image downloads such as the ones provided in fan site kits. It would additionally mean that almost every gaming sig on the internet would have to be removed, along with most gaming websites etc.
