Look at marijuana today, its easier for a teenager/kid to get marijuana then alcohol because its not legalized. If you make cigarettes illegal, it will fall in the hand of children much easier then if u sell it in store, control the sale and tax it.

Cigarette smoking IS bad, and this comes from a smoker that started probably while most of you guys were still playing around in the placenta (meaning still in the womb and not born yet lol). Hell I was smoking even when girly was still hanging around the monkey bars at recess & we all know she's ancient (kinda sad that it makes me older than her) I do make it a habit not to smoke around nonsmokers as a consideration for their feelings (that is IF I'm cool w/them if not....) Anyway that's how I feel but I wish to retort to the starting comments just a little. A statement that smoking kills the world's population has no relavancy to your thinking it should be illegal. Guns are instruments used to kill people but not all of them are illegal. People drown or die in water sports (jetskiing deepsea diving) all the time should we make those illegal? Hell there's been people that have died in swimming pools. Let's not forget to mention that others have died doing extreme sports like skydiving, racing (Dale Earnhardt), as well as everyday normal activities like driving to school or work. Those aren't illegal to do... As for ruining your heart and lungs okay I'll buy that but if you smoke in the privacy of your own home or personal place what does it matter, in the end it's your body that's damaged not someone else's. Besides if we made it illegal it'll jus go on the black market anyway just more expensive...like maybe $10/pack. IF it was made illegal it wouldn't make a difference, think of how many illegal substances there are in the US much less the world and how many people still have access and use them on a daily basis. Making a certain substance illegal does nothing but make some inventive guy figure out a way to still give people what they want. Anyway I'll stop ranting this post is long enough.

IMO, it's America, we've never gotten anywhere by banning popular things (look at Prohibition) So, while I don't like people doing it, I don't think anything should stop them from smoking
