    Okay I am new to steam, so bare with me, Let's say my freind purchases the bornze half-life 2 package that includes half life 2 and counter strike source, could he share it with me. Yes I know I'm a noob. Please just give me an answer.

    yes he could, but i don't think that you can play at the same time =\

    not 100% on that. Maybe it's just the same server at the same time. Either way I recommend just getting your own account.

    Okay thanks I have my own steam account but my friend has HL2 and CS:S so I was like whats the point in me buying them, But is it we can play at the same time just not the same time and game. w/e thanks for your help though

    Only one person can be on an game at a time and you cant register a cd key on more then one acct.

    Yes, you can share it. Just register it on one account, and both of you can be logged on at the same time. (But you CANT play the same game at the same time)

    errr you can play at the same time, just not the same server, me and my brother do it all the time

    say you are playing and your friend tries to play you will get kicked out of the server.

    u can both play at the same time..... u just need 2 use the same steam id... and if u play online u cant play on the same server.....

    Actually the answer is no. A cd key is registered to one account. If one of you is logged in the other will log in and cause the first one to log out. It's better just to buy your own cd key.
