Why dont you just try resizing the canvas?

resizing the canvas should work....i mean really...if nothing else click the reveal all button again, then resize the canvas

 

Just crop it to match the sig size

 

its a psd tho so if i crop it then i would have to flatten the image

 

Not true, take the crop tool (by pressing c ) It should work (at least it did with me)
