LINK someone got into my admin cp and changed the links, all the posts are there but it links to another site! i cant get into the admin cp cus of this, please help!
okay, now that i fxed things somewhat, this is what happened: i got hacked. another admin said everything on the forum was linking back to another site. this guy then started messging around with the site. lucking, before he got the chance to completly ---- everything up i COMPLETLY backed up the board. how can i fix this? btw, he hacked the admin cp not the ftp, thank god.
If you send me your Cpanel Username and Password i can fix this for you And if you dont trust me. Look at the Hacked topic in the General section. I helped to fix this same problem there ^_^
Just go into your SQL and change everything back such as your password for your account. I know how you feel someone hacked my AIM screenname and started cursing off my friends and stuff. Damn hackers.
cant, he owverwrote the sql files ;( i talked to BFTP, theres nuthing i can do but restart with new security tips he gave me.
sql is inside of cpanel so there would be no way for him to overwrite unless he has acess to your cpanel.
From the looks of it, he tried to overwrite it all with a backup and it ----ed up the old SQL files. Thus its best for him to start fresh, since if you try to view his forum now, it saids no database selected. It usually saids that if you need to run the installer, no? BFTP
i havent seen the board or anything so i was just saying if he just changed a few things in the sql then he could change them back but i am not aware of the full situation so wat i am saying may not even apply.

[/b][/quote] Dude, if he can get into your sql then he can most likely get into anything on your server. I would suggest a change in passwords maybe? It is wise to change your password every few days or even better every day.
Ok, when you make your new one, heres what I suggest: make a hidden account, that won't show up in the members list, make that account a member of admins. make the password about 20 characters big, with numbers and letters, then a hacker can never guess it. I did this before, not because of a hacker, but because I accidentially overwrote my admin rights on my account, and I had to wait for a friend to reset me...
