You obviously never tried XP, how in the heck would you know??

XP is the most stable thing, only pwned by Linux. I will forever stick with Windows only because I have over 100 applications, games, and driver disks on cd, and I'm not switching to apple anytime soon.

    Thats my reason.

apple is overpriced, form over function, and many programs aren't compatible with it.

sorry but i don't want to buy into the macintosh monopoly of apple pc products just so i can run their os.

Actually, Windows 2000 is the most stable one not XP.

I vote OSX. WinXP has just gave me problems, formated like 4 times since November. Each time I try repairing never works. Also so many viruses and spyware its agravating.

yea, windows 2000 was good, but its not the most stable of OS's. According to MS, 2000 is now more vulnerable than ever.

    And viruses and spyware?

Get Avast, the best AntiV out there, also use NOD32's AV. They work well together, and they don't fight with each other like Norton and McAfee would.

Get 'Search and Destroy' and 'Ad-Aware', that takes care of spware.

Also, get Sygate personal firewall, it does alot to keep your computer free of hackers.

guess what? ALL THESE ARE FREE!!

Xp is better because it is more practical. Everyone uses it, its the base operating system for almost everywhere and therefore it has the best support from software and hardware developers. It is just more practical to use for the everyday user.

The only way I see mac as better is for PRO gfx designers as MAC has better gfx developing technologies.

    I voted XP..

I agree with everything XMasterX has said :D

its not had to stay away from spyware. its called SpywareBlaster and Adaware SE.

    Viruses? AVG Anti-virus.

and of course, the zonealarm firewall..w00t for all of them.

Well its the most vulnerable now because they found a big exploit which made big tv channels like CNN and ABC crash. Why did you think they used Win2000? Because its UNIX based which makes it more stable than the others.

Search and Destroy I had only problems with it, everytime I tried deleting some the program would end up crashing.

Well WinXP SP1 was better to me since SP2 has made a connection limit which gives some problems playing online games and downloading stuff off p2p.

Actually Mac does run a lot of stuff. Most of the really good stuff runs on it and if it doesn't well there's an alternative and GarageBand is one of the best, if not the best, music makers available and its only on Mac and its free with every mac you buy. Also the best games work on it, if it doesn't work well its because the game isn't very good, the port isn't done yet or its just another damn FPS.
