why Is every political thread started closed...and some of them, for no reason at all? There was no real flaming wars or anything, its like the mods have a shaky trigger finger always set on the closed button? wtf is up? Lay back alittle...let us discuss some political issues. That is one of the major parts or our world, and i think we have the right to discuss it.

Yes, I know some of the threads have spam, but then again, some don't. Sure there is arguements, but that is life. You can't shut down every single thing you think may, in the future, make you unconfortable.

Just my opinion, and, as I am suspecting...the mods will close this within minutes for not real reason.

I must agree, I made a text about 50 lines explaining my point of view, and I totally agree that politic is now one of the biggest thing in the world and we need to discuss about what we think

They get closed fast because it will always end up turning into a flame war. There has never been a thread here in the political, religious or ethnic style that hasnt turned into a flame war.

You will get someone who comes in and makes and states their beliefs, and others dont agree with it and then it starts.

The genre of this place is Graphics and Gaming, not politics and religion.

I'm sure the mods would have no problem with a concise, clear, calm argument about politics. If you could reasonably state and defend your personal opinions and ideas, then that would be fine, im sure.

    Good luck with that.

There could be an alternative to that though. Create a subforum called "Political Discussion", and have it setup to moderate all posts.

That would mean the moderaters review all posts made and if they dont like it, then dont allow it to be posted. That way flame-wars can be stopped before they are started.

Some people have very strong opinion, so they are offended when people disagree. And after many flames, it just turns into spam.

And the problem with the moderated subforum would be the complete pain that the moderators would have to go thorugh in reading every single post.

Ya, but it couldnt hurt to ask for it. And maybe....just maybe, there could be someone out there that would be able to write a program that scans for certain words or phrases when the post is entered into it. If it finds them, it notifies the mods and the mods can deny it. It could turn 3 hours worth of work into about 30-45 minutes.

I don't think they'd want to go through that. Can you imagine checking every single reply? And then when they approve one it may be out of date already. It's too much of a hassle.

And it's true, when you talk about politics and religion someone ALWAYS ends up over reacting. I've never been in a debate/discussion where people really even cared about what everyone else thought, they just wanted to push their beliefs. Politics discussions of the like don't belong on a message board dedicated to graphics and it will just cause trouble for the mods and members alike.
